Pastoral Care

At Encounter Christian Centre we believe that it is vitally important for each member to be an active participant within a small group somewhere within the Church.

This is because true Christianity can only be lived out when…

  • we are in loving relationship with others,
  • every person recognises their unique God given gifts, and uses them in service toward others.

Our goal is to provide effective pastoral care and support for every individual.

We believe this can be achieved through the ongoing development of our small groups (or Cells as we call them). These groups interconnect together to form a network of caring relationships. The ultimate goal of these groups is to function as biblical communities spreading across the city. This means that they will provide practical as well as spiritual assistance to the members of the group while at the same time deliberately generating an hospitable environment where people seeking Christ can come, enquire in safety and find the answers that Christ offers.

We believe that Leadership development is most effectively achieved within a small group context. We therefore focus deliberately on providing additional training for leaders of Cell groups and other small groups or teams which function within the Church.

From time to time specialist small groups function within Encounter Christian Centre. These groups focus on a variety of issues ranging from Parenting, Marriage, Finance, Recovery from Addiction/Abuse etc. Please watch the Church Bulletin or website for details or phone the Church Office.

Counselling can be arranged if required by contacting your Cell Group leader. If you are new to the Church and have not joined a Cell yet, please check our cell page and contact one of the leaders there. They will be happy to introduce you to a cell leader in your area.
